About me

me2As a mother of nine, it wasn’t until the birth of my fifth child and first home birth, that I knew I wanted to be involved the birth community, to support laboring women in childbirth. Eighteen months after the birth of my seventh child, I decided to begin my doula journey.  Over the last 10 years my experience includes birth doula support in hospital and at home, postpartum support, sibling support,  and breastfeeding support as a La Leche League Leader.  My doula education includes both a DONA and CAPPA workshop. In addition to my doula role,  I am also a working Registered Nurse, who aspires to become a Certified Nurse Midwife someday.

My Philosophy

My role as a doula is  to nurture and preserve the birth memories, to respect the unity of family, to facilitate a smooth transition from pregnancy to parenthood.  I am a part of the birth team and do not replace anyone, especially family. I draw from both my professional training and my personal experience, as a mother of nine, to encourage, reassure, and support  you during your pregnancy and birth.  It is a great honor to be a part of my birthing family’s journey.
